Common yard birds disappearing in Oregon
PORTLAND, Ore. - It may be getting a little more quiet in back yards as a
steep population decline continues among common birds such as the Western
meadowlark in the Portland metro area.

They blame ordinary house cats, and pesticides
I don't buy it for a moment.

Birds build a nest in front of the house every year since 1990, here in Palmdale CA, and
there has yet to be any birds leave the nest because the cats get them. I believe that cats are
a MAJOR reason for the decline of songbirds, and other wildlife. There are very few cats that
are native to America.
You can't let your dog roam free, and I don't think that you should let cat's roam free.
